Leam Holt has done the unthinkable. He’s saved Harbing from utter destruction by consuming the toxin that was intended for the entire town and he’s rescued Eloa’s father from Darkness Headquarters. But at what cost? Stricken by the poison and unable to remember who he is or access his Light side, Leam is captured by Gideon. Surrounded by evil, Leam revels in his undiluted Dark power and connects with other violent and corrupt kids, especially the bold and gorgeous Rylan. Still, Leam struggles to piece together his memories, including those of the beautiful Eloa, whom he discovers is in grave danger. While forces of Light work to free Leam, the world is thrown into turmoil. The battle over the prophet, the person who will lead the world into complete Darkness or Light, is heating up, and Leam’s role in the war grows murkier.
The Unleashed The Undelightened Volume 2 Bentz Deyo Books
This is the second book in the Undelightened series and it was definitely worth the wait. Leam, our hero, grapples with his place in this world of Dark and Light. Like the first book in this series, the writing was exceptional, and the story this time was even more compelling with exciting and completely unanticipated twists and turns. I was pleasantly surprised. I think I actually liked this book better than the first book in the series. Fast-paced and beautifully told. I know writers don't like to hear "when's the next one coming out?" just after you finished the second one, but, when's the next one coming out?Product details

The Unleashed The Undelightened Volume 2 Bentz Deyo Books Reviews
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I was incredible happy to hear from the author that The Undelightened series would be getting a sequel. When I read the first book I was instantly pulled into the intriguing story of The Undelightened. I simply could not wait for the second book and once it finally arrived I was immediately started reading. If I was not doing work for my college classes, I would spend each free moment I could reading further.
The Unleashed was a great and satisfying sequel to The Undelightened. As the story progresses we get learn more about Leam (and Eloa as well) along with the struggles that Leam continues to face. I have never been a fan of books that give off a speedy “happy ending” vibe, as if things will be resolved too quickly. The Unleashed does not disappoint, it continues to reveal more about the battle between the light and dark worlds and is full of surprises within this incredible world that the author has created. I look forward to what the author will bring to the table with the next book. After that ending that The Unleashed left us with I will be waiting (rather impatiently) for book 3. I will not lie…I found myself mentally screaming to Leam that everything would be okay after finishing the book.
Thank you Bentz for continuing to share this world you have created with us.
4.5 stars.
While normally I would like the second book in a series less than I liked the first one, The Unleashed was an exception! I, in fact, liked it more than the first book! This is not to say that the first book was not good, but rather that some of the things which had been set up in book 1, were developed further, or completed in book 2. IT was very satisfying.
Another thing which I wanted to note was that this book clicked better with me in an emotional sense as well. There were a few portions where I was quite on the edge due to events taking place, or holding the book out in front of me so as to avoid damaging the pages with tears. The writing was more engaging as well, and the pacing was steady and with more action. And the plot was also unpredictable (which those of you who have read my past reviews will know that I always appreciate), as well as complex and entertaining.
Now, I am in no way saying that you should all skip book 1 in order to get to book 2, because the second book will not make sense without what The Undelighened has set up for us (regarding the world, the magic system, the characters, etc.) And again, I did enjoy the first book a lot too. I just happened to enjoy this one a little more.
Another positive thing which I wanted to point out, was that I noted a lot of character development taking place, and that character interactions and relationships were just a pleasure to read about. Dialogue was also written effectively, and used adequately to help in setting the mood or tone for particular scenes.
Overall I recommend this book (and this series, in fact) to those who like to read urban fantasy, enjoy a unique magic system, like reading about the battle between Dark and Light, and like plots which keep them engaged and intrigued throughout!
I choose the 4* rating because I could not put the book down and wanting more .
There are no comment on likes or dislikes because there are more books to the series to look forward to reading and not wanting to put down
I would definitely recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this second book in the Undelightened Series. Both books were exciting and twisted in a good way. You can’t easily predict what’s going to happen and the author managed to surprise me with some of the trials that Leam endures—and I do read a lot of YA fantasy. I thought the fight and action scenes were neat and relevant to the story, not just thrown in for cool imagery...though the imagery IS cool.
The Unleashed is about the conflict between good and evil, and the people who secretly direct these forces - influence individuals and world events. The main character, Leam, is caught between Light and Dark, pulled apart by different memories and connections with people. The concepts of heroism and courage are turned on their head as Leam struggles to understand his role in a growing battle.
A great read for people who want something original and fast-paced.
